Description

    Breakout for LinkItTM Smart 7688 v2.0, succeeding the first version (check here), now can better support the audio recording function. As it reserves the original pins of LinkItTM Smart 7688, the board also integrates several frequently-used ports such as an Ethernet port, a 3.5mm audio port, and a Host port (USB Type-A Connector) for more peripherals, and along with 3 Grove ports to provide 2 UART and 1 I2C interfaces for the Grove-based electronics, it saves you a lot of work doing wirings in your smart IoT projects, makes your rapid prototyping even faster.

    About LinkItTM Smart 7688, LinkIt Smart 7688 (a compact controller board) is an open development board, based on the OpenWrt Linux distribution, MT7688. The board is designed especially to enable the prototyping of Rich Application IoT devices for smart house.

Demo –Smart WiFi Audio

   It is a WiFi Audio which allows your mobile phone to connect to its WiFi and play the music in your phone. If you connect the Linklt Smart 7688 to your Router, the Audio will show the IP on the Grove RGB Backlight LCD, and also the music names.

  • For 3.5 mm phone connector (audio jack), it supports the protocol OMTP and CTIA. You can use either protocol by switching a switch. About how to switch protocol, we will describe it later.

To switch phone connector protocol between OMTP and CTIA
    In preceded figure, you can notice that there are six pins and two jumper caps on bottom-right corner. These pins are used to switch phone connector protocol. As you set tiny jumper(both) to left-four pin, protocol OMTP is used. As you set tiny jumper(both) to right-four pin (as preceded figure shows), protocol CTIA is used. As following figures show:
     Note that to use the recording functionality, you need to update on-board firmware to Breakout for LinkIt Smart 7688 firmware(above version v0.9.2).
    Note that we recommend you use external storage device, because the Write/Read speed of on-board flash memory is limited

The Linklt Smart 7688 development platform offers two developments boards:

Linklt Smart 7688 : MPU only. Powered by Media Tek MT7688.

Linklt Smart 7688 Duo (雙核) : MPU and MCU. Powered by Media Tek MT7688 and ATmega 32U4.

 

Grove interface
Connect rich Grove interfaced functional modules. With this kind of ports, you never need jumper wire or soldering work, and you can make more powerful applications with those functional modules.
